Our Philosophy.

Here at B.A.R.K. Training, we work to promote both an environment and a system of communication that is conducive to motivated and successful learning. We tailor training plans to address and accommodate the needs, preferences, and goals of both you and your dog.

We believe that helping create a confident and collaborative dog is achieved through compassionate, humane, and ethical training free from force, fear, pain, or intimidation and we work to ensure we are utilizing the least inhibitive, functionally effective (LIFE) methods to help you and your dog learn and grow as a team.

We recognize that every dog is different - they are individuals with differing personalities, motivations, and needs. We also recognize that every human is different - having differing handling choices, lifestyles, and management preferences. We assess each dog and handler as individuals to determine the best approach and set reasonable goals/expectations for training so that all of our students/clients leave their programs feeling confident and capable in their training.

We strive to help guardians communicate and engage with their dogs in ways that everyone can understand, enjoy and look forward to. We work to help them learn about their dog’s needs and desires and how to appeal to their interests through fun and interactive ways and teach desired behaviors with kindness and compassion.
